For a bedroom rug, the size of your bed will determine the size of the rug. For a large bedroom; a king-sized bed needs a king-sized rug, so get the largest one you can to keep the room looking magnificently spacious. All placements should leave 18 to 24 inches of floor space around the rug.

Even a faux fireplace can serve as a cozy focal point. Alternatively, center your room around a bold coffee table, a media unit, or a large piece of art to ground the space and draw people in.

Big spaces don’t have to feel empty. With the right design elements, even the most expansive room can feel cozy, inviting, and full of life. Whether you’re working with a modern open plan or a classic high-ceilinged home, these tips will help you turn size into style—without sacrificing warmth.
